Therapy Interventions
- Therapy Interventions include inpatient residential, medication assisted as well as a outpatient intensive follow up and support.
- A well-rounded care team that includes a social worker, a mental health nurse, an occupational therapist, a psychotherapist, a psychiatrist, a pharmacist and volunteer peer counselors.
- Trauma informed cognitive behavioural therapy
Mental illness affects our thinking, emotions, relationships and decision making. Getting the right treatment early is the best way to improves one’s chances of managing the illness. Treatment at our centers focuses on first managing your symptoms, then psychotherapy, which will be a big part of your treatment plan to help you understand how to deal with your thoughts and behaviors, as well as helping you manage your everyday life. Finally we engage you in rehabilitation skills which includes career counselling, problem solving support, education in money management etc, to help you get ready for work or start a business and keep it.
Family members play a big role in your recovery journey. It is important for family members to understand one another, support one another and work together as a unit through difficult situations. Our center psychologists strive to incorporate your family in your treatment plan as a safety net, to provide a sense of stability and motivation on your recovery journey.
Group therapy is essential for providing emotional safety; in essence it allows you to understand that you are not alone. In our centers, we provide a safe space to come together and connect with others who are experiencing similar issues. These facilitated sessions help build group identity, promote self care activities, and build on social skills. We share tips and resources that promote mental and emotional well being.
Our center incorporates teletherapy to capture those in dire need but are unable to reach our centers immediately, and also to follow up with our clients living in remote areas once they have been discharged from our centers.
